I find it quite extraordinary to be able to set off by bike from home, without using motorized transport, to explore a little corner of the world beyond our borders.
I’ll lend you a small, minimalist pannier to put your things in. Then we’ll hop on the EuroCity, heading for Domodossola.
An hour later, a new adventure awaits you. I’ll introduce you to Piedmont, Cannobio, Stresa and the romantic region around Lake Orta. I’ve been charmed by this heavenly place, and have found you lots of interesting places to eat and drink. Not to mention the cycling itineraries through breathtaking scenery.
The Italian charm is sure to have an effect, and I look forward to sharing this experience with you.
Escape at the foot of the Bernese Alps
After a short hour’s train journey, we’ll be disembarking in the picturesque bay of Lake Thun.
A change of scenery guaranteed!
Here, everything has been designed with cycling in mind, with cycle paths for safe riding. We’ll be taking an itinerary little used by motor vehicles, with sections closed to traffic. We’ll be tackling one of Europe’s most beautiful passes: the famous Grosse Scheidegg. It’s a cycling experience that has to be earned, as we’ll be covering 1,300 m of ascent over 16 km, with stretches of up to 17%. What a pleasure to cycle at the foot of glaciers and majestic peaks such as the Eiger North Face, the Mönch and the Jungfrau. Breathtaking landscapes that leave a lasting impression!
To prolong the pleasure, we’ll take advantage of the opportunity to enjoy quality culinary delights and other regenerating breaks at altitude or in the Thun or Interlaken regions.
In search of the hidden treasures of Valais
I’ll guide you along some of my favorite routes.
We’ll pass through the region’s typical villages, climb the most beautiful passes in the Alps and visit sparkling dam lakes.
What a pleasure it is to pedal along these little-traveled roads. A feeling of being alone in the world, out of time.
During our journey, we’ll be welcomed by local restaurateurs, who’ll let us taste their “home-made” specialties.
Refreshed, we’re back on the road for the next stage of our adventures.
I’d like to take you on a journey of discovery to a region I’m particularly fond of for its terroir, heritage and welcoming people: Val d’Aoste.
We’ll practice our favorite sport through the valley’s most beautiful vineyards and typical villages.
We’ll climb some of the legendary mountain passes used by Tour de France and Giro riders, but we’ll also get away from it all on smaller, less-traveled roads.
A little paradise for all cycling enthusiasts.
Immersion in the heart of Provence
Some call it the Mont Chauve, others the Géant de Provence. Mont Ventoux is the stuff of dreams, and every cyclist must climb it once in their life.
After this trip, this mythical climb will hold no more secrets for you.
I’ll also take you on a tour of the small roads and villages I love, with their exceptional scenery of vineyards and lavender fields.
It’s not for nothing that Provence has been designated a “biosphere reserve” by UNESCO.
You’ll stay in a restorative farmhouse in the middle of an olive grove, and can recuperate each day in the swimming pool.
The great crossing of the French Alps
We’ll set off from Martigny in the Valais or from Lake Geneva.
Then we’ll cross the entire French Alps from north to south, following the legendary roads and passes climbed by the Tour de France riders.
After traversing the most beautiful Alpine valleys, getting closer to the sea every day, we’ll arrive at Nice’s famous Promenade des Anglais for a well-deserved dip in the Mediterranean.
Finally, we’ll recuperate from our efforts and prolong the pleasure by enjoying the mildness of the city.
